HOPU provides IoT devices for noise monitoring in real-time. The noise sensor is ROHS/CE certified. It will be integrated into the IoT devices along with the other sensors for air quality monitoring, supposing a saving of maintenance, installation and communication costs.

Besides, the HOPU devices ensure agile management of the proposed fleet by the city. Also, they have the following specifications:

  • Class 2 noise sensor
  • Measurement range: 35 to 120 dB
  • Frequency range: 31.5 Hz to 8 kHz
  • Resolution: 0.1 dB
  • Accuracy: ±1.7 dB
  • Peak detection
  • Windshield

They comply with the IEC 61672-1 standard, allowing the detection of high noise levels, which can be detrimental to citizens’ quality of life.

They include protection using external probes and anti-wind systems.

They are designed to be configured from the IoT device management platform.

They allow the modification of measurement intervals and the sending of data to the platform.

This sound level meter calculates the noise indicators defined in Directive 2002/49/EC for the assessment and management of environmental noise, so it considers this regulation to evaluate environmental noise. The available indicators include:

  • Day-evening-night noise indicator
  • Daytime noise indicator
  • Evening period noise indicator
  • Night-time noise indicator
